[Explanation ]
Hirai Castle is the currently Fujioka City, Gunma Prefecture.
It is said that “Norizane Uesugi” of the Kanto administration is built by his vassal “Tadafusa Nagao”.

After that, Hirai Castle was expanded by “Uesugi Akisada” which succeeded the constitution of the first year of Bunshosha (1466). After that, it became a castle that Yamanouchi Uesugi rule over time, but Uesugi’s head “Uesugi Norimasa” was attacked by Sagami’s “Hojo Ugiyasu” and surrendered, Government lost due to Echigo’s Nagao Kagetora (Uesugi Kenshin).

Eiroku 3 years (1560), was recaptured again by Nagao Kagetora, but in the same year, Kagetora took residence in Kanto to Umabayashi Castle (Maebashi Castle), so Hirai Castle became abandoned castle. At present, there are not much remains of the castle, but some restoration work is done.
