Kakunoda Castle is a mountain castle site located in Kakunodate, sightseeing attractions of Semboku, Akita prefecture.

However, Moriyasu suddenly died before Odawara Castle fell, and he kindly entrusted Hideyoshi his brother ‘Kosei’ his heir ‘Masamori’. Keicho 5 (1600) When the battle of Sekigahara broke out, “Tozawa Masamori” who was sided with the East Army led by Ieyasu gave Shinjo Castle for 60 thousand Jewels.

Meanwhile, in Kakunodate Castle Yoshinobu Satake whose flag was unclear in the same battle was transferred to Kubota castle (Akita castle), and Kakunodate Castle was also under Satake’s rule. Asahina Yoshihiro (Morishige) who became son-in-law of Asahina was appointed. It is said that the current castle town was improved in the time when this Yoshihiro was a castle owner.
