Mitsukuri Castle is a castle built on the mountain in Misakuzan in Yamamoto Town Five Villa Higashi Omi City, Shiga Prefecture.
Minami Omi Guardianship “Rokkaku” has played a role as a main castle “Kanonji castle”.
Originally it was reported that “Rokkaku” was built in opposition to the Kanonji castle of “Rokkaku Takayori” in the period when Mr. Rokkaku was east-west division due to Nenin’s turbulence. The castle owner “Rokkaku Sadayori” around the Tenmon 19th year (1550) is undergoing a major renovation of the castle.
When Oda Nobunaga carries out Shogun “Ashikage Yoshiaki” in Eiroku 11 November (1568), when the Uraga conspires to “Shogun Ashikaga”, “Rokkaku Yoshikata Yoshiharu” faced a robust resistance, so Nobunaga attacked it. Mitsukuri Castle fell in a day.
Abandoned Kanonji Castle which is the main castle Misaki, Rokkaku Family escaped to Koka county. Mistukuri castle is considered abandoned when castle falls. The remains of Stonewalls ruins and Dry moat etc. are left now.
