Matsukura Castle is a mountain castle in the Sengoku period that was in Takayama-city, Gifu Prefecture.
Tensho 7th year (1579), Hida Guardian’s “Elder sister Shouji Yoritsuna” built and the main castle and moved from “Sakuragado Castle” to Matsukura Castle.
After Oda Nobunaga later died, “Toyotomi Hideyoshi” who was taking control of the world started in 1585, the Sasa conquest of Ecchuu. At this time, Hida ‘s elder sister Shouji Yoritsuna also took a stand against Hideyoshi with Sasa Narimasa.
In the same year, the castle owner Echizen Ono “Kanemori Nagahonaga” who received the life of Hidei from the Hideyoshi (elder sister Kouji Toubatsu) invaded Hida and suppressed it. Hida Matsukura Castle, which was said to be impregnable by nearby attacks, also falls, and the elder sister Kouji house is destroyed.
The chief neighborhood that unified Hida made it a new castle that will build Takayama castle and rule Hida. This made Hida Matsukuraku Castle an abandoned castle. At the present Matsukura Castle Ruins there are remnants such as land base and empty beach.
