[Description]
Misaki Castle is the residence of Mr. Miura, located in Miura City, Kanagawa Province.
It is different from [Arai Castle] which is located on the same island, it was renovated as a navy base of Mr. Hojo.

In the end of Kamakura Period when Mr. Miura was destroyed, it is said that the castle was built by [Saharashi Moritoki]. In the beginning of Sengoku Era, [Miura Yoshiatsu] was enclosed by Hojo Soun in the castle, and practised defensive attack for 3 years and finally defeated Mr. Miura. Therefore, Mr. Miura was destroyed.

After that, the area was ruled by Mr. Hojo. Temporarily it was attacked by Mr. Satomi and lost the territory. After that, when [Hojo Ujiyasu] recaptured this land, he named his son [Ujinori] the castle owner of [Misaki Castle].

Tensho 18 year (1590), Hojo Ujimasa, Ujiteru was surrendered at the Battle of Hojo broke out by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Misaki Castle became abandoned. Nowadays, it became residential area and only some stone monuments, boards are left on the current castle ruins.
