It was built by Takahashi Mototane during the beginning of Edo Period.

[Description]
Nobeoka Castle is a flatland-mountain castle built in Honkoji, Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Province.Takahashi Mototane started building the castle in Keicho 6 year (1601) and it was completed in Keicho 8 year (1603).

Genki 2 year (1571), Mototane was born as the second son of [Akiduki Tanezane]. Tensho 6 year (1578), he was adopted by Takahashi Kanetane. Tensho 15 year (1587), he was surrended to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and was given 53000 stones.

Mototane put effort in preparing for the town under the castle, the current Nobeoka Castle was built at that time. However, Keicho 18 year (1613), it was replaced and after that Mr. Arima, Mr. Miura, Mr. Makino was the castle owner one after another, and Mr. Naito ruled this place until the end of Shogun.

In addition, there is a stone that can destroy a thousand soldiers at once. It is called [A thousand Killer] in Nobeoka Castle. A Castle Park is built at the current ruins and stones are left.
