It is a famous castle where Matsudaira Motoyasu (Tokugawa Ieyasu) stored the military food during the Battle of Okehazama.
The castle built year and castle owner is unknown but it seems to be ruled by [Toki Toriyasu] and Ikeda Yoritada was the castle owner. After that, when entering Eisho Period, Hanai Bichushu and Mizuno were recorded on the castle owner’s name.
Tenmon 17 year (1548), [Nonoyama Masakane] attacked the castle by the order of Imagawa Yoshimoto, but Oda Nobuhide attacked back and finally the castle did not fall down and Masakane died. When Nobuhide was sick, Nobunaga who inherited him saw the limitation, he gave Oudaka Castle and Kutsukake Castle to Imagawa Yoshimoto.
In response to this threat, Nobunaga started preparing to defend [Washidutoride] and [Marunetoride]. On the other hand, Eiroku 2 year (1559), Asahina Yasukatsu became the castle owner. Eiroku 3 year (1560), [Udono Nagateru] entered the castle and guarded it. After that, because of the lack of military food, Yoshimoto ordered Matsudaira Motoyasu to bring food to Oudaka Castle, and Motoyasu accomplished this task and guarded the castle.
Soon, [the Battle of Okehazama] occurred and Yoshimoto was killed. Motoyasu (Ieyasu) entered Okazaki Castle and became the independent Daimyo. After that, Oudaka Castle became abandoned. However, when entering Edo Period, Mr. Shimizu designed pavilion and lived in Oudake Castle for generations.
