Washizutoride
Where Oda Hidetoshi•Iinoo defended and fell during the Battle of Okehazama.
[Description]
Washizutoride is located in Midori District, Nagoya City, built by [Oda Nobunaga]. It is famous for being the front line of the Battle of Okehazama. Nobunaga who was in betrayal of [Yamaguchi Noritsugu] right before the battle, built Washidutoride and Marunetoride.
[Oda Hidetoshi] and [Iinoo Sadamune•Hisakiyo] were appointed as the guardian. Eiroku 3 year (1560), Imagawa Yoshimoto’s army attacked Owari and Washidutoride and Marunetoride. Matsudaira Motoyasu was appointed as the general officer of Marunetoride and Asahina Yasutomo was appointed as the general officer of washidutoride.
Both were good at battle but it finally fell down. [Sakuma Morishige] of Marunetoride died, and Oda Hidetoshi and Mr.Iinoo escapted. Nobunaga abandoned Rou Castle strategy, instead he focused on attacking Yoshitomo’s main base.
Nobunaga saw the battle between the two places and he received the report from his spy, and he attacked Yoshimoto’s main base suddenly. Furthermore, he took Yoshimoto’s life. After the Battle of Okehazama, Matsudaira Motoyasu (Tokugawa Ieyasu) signed an alliance with Nobunaga, and washidutoride was abandoned.
Washidutoride monument is built on the current site and in addition, [Washizutoride Park] is also being built.
