[Description]
Tamaru Castle is a flatland-mountain castle located in Tamaru, Tamaki Town, Watarai Town, Mie Province.
The correct castle built year is unknown but it is said that the castle was built by [Kitabatake Chikafusa] [Kitabatake Akinobu] during the South and North Dynasites.

Koei 1 year (1342), the castle fell by the attack of Ashikaga Takauji. When entering Muromachi Era, Mr. Kitabatake entered Tamaru Castle and named it Tamaru. During Sengoku Era, the master [Tamaru Naomasa] was attacked by Oda Nobunaga’s Ise Attack. When [Kitabatake Tomonori] was defeated, Oda Nobuo became the castle owner.

Nobuo greatly renovated Tamaru Castle. In addition, it became the center to rule Ise by Mr. Oda. However, Tensho 8 year (1580), Tamaru Castle was destroyed by the fire and Nobuo moved his main base to [Matsukashima Castle].

Tensho 12 year (1584), after [the Battle of Komaki-Nagakute], when Ujisato transferred to Aizu, Naomasa also followed. During the beginning of Edo Period, [Inaba Michitou] became the castle owner and established [Tamaru Clan].

Ganwa 5 year (1619), [Kuno Munenari] was awarded 60000 stones and after that, Mr. Kuno served as the castle officer until the end of the Shogun.

Tamaru Castle was destroyed in Meiji 6 year under the One Country One Castle Policy. But Tenshu Platform, external moats, internal moats, empty moats, etc are still left.
