Takenaka Hanbei’s son Shigemoto built it after Sekigahara Battle
[Description]
Takenakashi Jinya is located in Tarui Town, Fuwa City, Gifu Province.
[Shigemoto], the son of [Takenaka Hanbei], who was the famous military counsellor of Hashiba Hideyoshi, he responded to Kuroda Nagamasa and helped the East Army in the battle of Sekigaraha in Keicho 5 year (1600). After that he abandoned the main castle Bodai Mountain Castle and started to prepare Jinya in piedmont.
With his military skill, Shigemoto received 6000 stones form Ieyasu, and set the banner of the Tokugawa family. Mr. Takenaka ruled Jinya during Edo Period and until the end of Shogun. However, the master [Tanaka Shigekata] was defeated at the battle of Toba•Fushimi and Takenake Jinya was forfeited.
After that, Shigekata continuted fighting with Tokugawa family until Hakodate Battle was finished. As a result, his award was reduced from 6000 stones to 300 stones. In addition, Yakuramon, stones, and moats are left in current Takenakashi Jinya, the statue of Takenaka Hanbei is also built.
