[Description]
Hanakuma Castle is a flatland-mountain castle located in the west, Motomachi Station, Chuo District, Kobe City, Hyoko Province.
It is said that the castle was built in Eiroku 10 year (1567) by Araki Murashige who received the order from [Oda Nobunaga]. It is also said that it was built in Eiroku 11 year (1568) when Wada Koremasa gave out Settsu Country.
It is also said that the castle was built by Araki Murashige for the purpose of preparation for Hongan Temple in Ishi Mountain, though it was unsure. Tensho 6 year (1578), because Murashige turned the flag against Nobunaga, [Hanakuma Castle] became Murashige’s main castle, and the sub-castle of [Arioka Caslte]. It fell down in Tensho 8 year (1580) when being attached by Ikekda Tsuneoki.
Since Ikekda Tsuneoki, who was given Settsu as an award, built a new castle [Hyogo Castle], Hanakuma Castle became abandoned. During the battle of Arioka Castle, both Arioka Castle and Amagasaki Castle fell down so that Hanakuma Castle became the last inner castle. However, it fell down when Saika Party of Kishu arrived.
Nowadays, a garden is built on Hanakuma Castle ruins, and there also has [Hanakuma Castle Tenshu Monument] and [Hanakuma Castle ruins].
