Kameyama Castle (Ise)
[Description]
Ise Kameyama Castle is a flatland-mountain castle located in Honmaru Town, Kameyama City, Mie Province. Benei 2 year (1265), it was built in Waka Mountain, Suzuka Town, Ise Country by [Seki Sanetada] who followed Mr. Ise Hei.
The castle was a very important base in North Ise Country, it was moved to the current location during Mr. Seki’s period. In Eiroku 10 year (1567), after Oda Nobunaga attacked Ise, Seki Castle gradually became battle and finally Mr. Seki surrendered.
Tensho 11 year (1583), Gamo Ujisato was appointed as castle owner, when Nobunaga attacked Akechi Mitsuhide at Honno Temple Chaos. In Tensho 18 year (1590), [Okamoto Yoshikatsu] who belonged to Toyotomi Hideyoshi entered the castle. It is said that a full-scale modern castle [Kameyama Castle] was formed by making changed to Tenshu, Honmaru, Ninomaru, Sannomaru, etc.
When entering Edo Era, Kameyama Clan was established, and Mr. Honda, Mr. Ishikawa worked as castle owner. When entering Meiji Era, followed by the national [Castle abandon Order], Kameyama Castle was abandoned. Nowadays, only a part of Tenshu platform, stones, well and soil base are left.
However, Kameyama Garden is built on Kameyama Castle ruins.
