The residence of Mr. Chiba of Akatsuka , who was the competent vassal of Mr. Hojyo of Odawara
[Introduction of Akatsuka Castle]
Akatsuka Castle is a flatland-mountain castle located in 5 Chome, Akatsuka, Itabashi District, Tokyo. It is said that it was built by [Chiba Yoritane] who moved from Ichikawa Castle in Kosho 2 year (1456).
Mr. Chiba of Akatsuka was active as the competent vassla of Mr. Hojyo of Odawara Castle, but in Tensho 18 year (1590) when Mr. Hojyo was destroyed at Odawara Battle broke out by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Mr. Chiba’s award was forfeited, and Akatsuka Castle became abandoned.
Nowadays, the current Akatsuka Castle ruins are being developed as a municipal park, and there are only a few remains of stone monuments and empty pits are left.
