Togane Castle
Its resident the Sakai family was besieged in Odawara Castle in the Hojo Conquest. After that, the Sakai family was deprived of its estate and the castle was abandoned.

Togane Castle used to stand in Togane City, Chiba Prefecture.
In the Warring States period, Sakai Sadataka of Toke Castle built Togane Castle with his third son Takatane. They established the Togane Sakai family.
The Sakai family resisted to the Hojo family with the Satomi family and some lords of Shimousa and Kazusa. However, after they were defeated in the Battle of Konodai, Togane Castle was surrounded by the Hojo army and they surrendered.
In the 18th year of the Tensho period (1590), in Hojo Conquest, they were besieged in Odawara Castle with the Hojo family. After the defeat of the Hojo family, the Sakai family lost its territory, too. Same time, Togane Castle was abandoned.
