[Description]
Nagahama Castle is a navy castle located on the cliff in Uchiuranomasu, Numazu City, Shizuoka Province. The castle built year is unknown, but it was the residence of Mr. Ogawa since Muromachi Period. Because Takeda Katsuyori built Numazu Castle, in order to fight with him, Tensho 7 year (1579), [Hojo Ujimasa] ordered to renovate the castle. Tensho 8 year (1580), there was a big navy battle which was known as [The battle of Suruga Bay] broke out between Mr. Takada and Mr. Hojo.

Tensho 18 year (1590), when Toyotomi Hideyoshi launched Hojo Battle, Hojo navy of Nagahama Castle did not even fight and they escaped. Nagahama Castle abandoned year is unknown, but it is said that it was abandoned when Izu Nirayama Castle was surrendered and opened.

[Historical Park] and repair oar are built on the current castle ruins.
