[Description]
Kisai Castle is a flatland castle located in Kazo City, Saitama Province.
The castle built year is unknown, but in Kosho 1 year (1455) [Nagao Kagenaka]’s residence [Kisai Castle] was attacked.
After that, Oda Akiie moved from Tanadare Castle to Kisai Castle. Akiie adopted [Narita Chikayasu]’s son [Tomooki] and appointed him as the castle owner.
Eiroku 6 year (1563), Matsuyama Castle was attacked by [Hojo Ujiyasu], Uesugi Kensin was expecting reinforcement but the castle fell down. Because of that, he attacked and took Kisai Castle.
Tensho 2 year (1574), Hojo Ujiyasu, Ujimasa, Ujiteru attacked [Sekiyado Castle]. Uesugi Kensin asked reinforcement, at that time, [Kisai Castle] was burnt.
In the end, Mr. Hojo controlled Sekiyado Castle and set it as a base to enter North Kanto. On the other hand, Tensho 18 year (1590), [Kisai Castle] fell down by Toyotomi army.
Hideyoshi who destroyed Mr. Hojo was given Kanto by [Tokugawa Ieyasu], and entered Kanto at 20000 stones, [Matsudaira Yasushige] was the castle owner of Kisai Castle. Keicho 6 year (1601), when Yasushige was transferred to [Kasama Castle], [Tadatsune], the son of [Oukubo Tadachika] entered the castle at 20000 stones.
Keicho 16 year (1611), when Oukobo Tadatsune died, his family also hid. After that, Kanei 9 year (1632), Tadamoto was transferred to Kano Catle. And Kisai Castle was abandoned.
Simulated Tenshu as a historical museum is built on the current castle ruins, and [Kisai Castle] monument and soil are left.
