On top of Aoba mountain, onarimon (honored gate) and Goten (palace) were built along with Honmaru made with stone walls and dorui.
During Tadamune’s period, Ninomaru was built, and high stone walls, gates, as well as Masugata Koguchi were constructed. The water moat and Dorui were built at Sannomaru, and it showed its presence throughout Edo period until the Meiji restoration as a castle of Sendai domain 62 hundred thousand Koku.
