Keicho 5 year (1600), Mr. Tokugawa occupied Minakuchi after the Battle of Sekigahara, and the castle was built as the residence of [Tokugawa Iemitsu]. It is said that the castle was built by [Kobori Masakazu]. A pavilion was built on Honmaru, and stones were also surrounded by moats.
However, this castle was only used by Iemitsu when he went to Kyoto, and after that the castle was for general use. Tenwa 2 year (1682), [Kato Akitomo] accepted 20000 stones and established Minakuchi Clan. After that, [Mr. Torii] ruled the castle for a while and then became the residence of Mr. Kato again.
When entering Meiji Era, the inner castle became abandoned. Moats, Demaru and other remainings are left. In addition, [Minakuchi Information Pavilion] is built on Honmaru.
